1. Teach Chess to all children.
Expected Outcomes:
--All 1st graders will know the rules of chess
--All 4th graders will understand the basic tactical & strategic elements of chess
--All 7th graders will establish a repertoire/style
2. Organize and execute chess tournaments.
Expected Outcomes:
--MCC will conduct monthly events
--MCC will conduct and support annual chess events
--MCC will conduct tournaments for HCF each year
3. Provide training for TDs and players (adults & children)
Expected Outcomes:
--Organize and conduct chess camps
--Organize and conduct weekly classes
--Articulate & execute chess curriculum
--Improved chess ratings (local & USCF)
--Increase the number of active TDs by 10% each year
--Increase the number of chess events (or number of players) by 10% each year
--ID and train chess teachers (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced)
4. Advocate chess for fun and recreation, as well as a great intellectual development activity for all
Expected Outcomes:
--Have more children playing chess than soccer in Mililani in 5 years
--Establish chess clubs in each of Mililani's schools (public & private)
5. Provide a vehicle for chess enrichment activities
Expected Outcomes:
--Organize & execute one annual trip to mainland event
--Demonstrate chess enjoyment at all levels of participation
