Tournament favorite Chet Gionson wins the MCC May event with 4-1/2 points. The big news at this event was 2nd grader Tristan, who is coming off his Primary School win at the State Scholastic Championships. Showed up at the club looking for his next conquest. Going into the final round had had three scalps on his belt including State High School Co-Champion Scott Kira. To finish his amazing event he played Chet to a draw finishing with 3-1/2 points.

The novice section finished with a 3 way tie for first place. We will be seeing some of these players moving up to the rated section soon.
